Associate-Senior Fundraiser Job Description
Langenfeld & Associates (L&A) is hiring full-time fundraisers based in Chicago. Fundraisers at L&A work in a collaborative team environment supported by deputy finance directors and other staff, while maintaining a high level of autonomy and independence over assigned projects. All team members work remotely except for frequent in-person events and meetings each week. Some evening and weekend hours are to be expected. Limited travel is required for events within Illinois.
Depending on the election cycle, fundraisers may have an opportunity to be involved in the fundraising efforts for Congressional, Senatorial, Statewide, State Legislative, Municipal, and County level candidates as well as $1m+ non-profit campaigns based in Illinois. We work with a diverse roster of new candidates, rising stars, and established leaders in the Democratic Party.
Duties:
Fundraisers are responsible for providing strategic, tailored fundraising services to clients including but not limited to:
● Overall fundraising strategy and donor outreach
● Development and execution of comprehensive finance plans
● Running call time programs, call time preparation and targeting, staffing virtual sessions
● Maintaining records of outreach and pledges, and following up on commitments until fulfilled
● Event production including scheduling, coordinating, and staffing fundraising events
● Managing host committees, finance committees, board members, or other surrogates
● Creating and distributing invitations, contribution forms, online contribution pages
● Prospecting, list building, and donor database management
● Donor and prospect research, scheduling, and staffing cultivation meetings or calls
● Establishing an effective email program to support call time and events
● Preparing reports and participating in consultant calls
● Additional research and communication needs, talking points, memos, and thank you notes
Qualifications:
● Based in the Chicago Area or willing to relocate
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience
● Minimum 2 years prior fundraising experience relevant to the duties listed above
● Fluency in NGP or other databases and email platforms
● Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, and Calendars
● Proficiency using Canva, Adobe Publisher, or other design software
● Demonstrated ability to work on sensitive projects independently and manage time efficiently and effectively
● Experienced in managing and training staff, and leading collaborative team projects
● Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills
● Creative problem solving skills and follow through
● Successfully taking ownership of several projects at once while still paying close attention to detail
● A track record of reliability, integrity, confidentiality, and overall professionalism
● Interested in adding value to ongoing team efforts and helping with overall success of all clients
● Desire for a full-time career in fundraising and consulting

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Internships
We are looking for highly motivated interns to support our fundraising team on a rolling basis. The internship will be based remotely, but there will be opportunities to attend in-person events. Because we are a small team, our interns are an integral part of our day-to-day operations and will get plenty of hands-on experience.
You will report directly to our senior staff on projects that will prepare you for a future in politics on the city, state, or federal campaign trail. If you are interested in joining a campaign or working in politics, this is a great opportunity to learn the vital skill of financing a campaign and gaining the necessary experience you will need to be hired on to a top-tier race.
